Encik Mohd Hisyamuddin Awang Abu Bakar was appointed as the Alternate Director to Dato' Sri Ab Rahim Ab Rahman (Non-Independent Non-Executive Director) of UDA Holdings Berhad on 18 June 2026.
He is a distinguished Malaysian public sector finance professional with more than two decades of leadership experience across the Federal Government, with expertise in government investment, corporate finance, financial management, internal auditing and public sector governance. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership and board appointments within the Ministry of Finance and government-linked companies, contributing to investment management, corporate evaluation and financial governance.
Encik Mohd Hisyamuddin currently serves as the Head of Special Investment, Real Estate & Services Section of the Government Investment Companies Division at the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. In this capacity, he oversees the Government's investment interests in state-owned companies, including shareholder matters, corporate business planning, financial performance, investment proposals, restructuring and divestment initiatives.
Prior to his current appointment, he served in various positions within the Government Investment Companies Division of the Ministry of Finance, the Accountant General Department, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home. These appointments provided him with broad experience across financial management, corporate evaluation, internal auditing, forensic auditing, risk assurance and public sector accountability, further strengthening his expertise in public finance, corporate governance and investment management.
He holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Master of Business Administration (Major in Islamic Finance) from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
