Muhammad Ismail Dasuki

Muhammad Ismail Dasuki is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd. An engineer by profession, he oversees the company's business operations, ensuring the successful execution of business plans for development of the southern region consisting of 1,230 acres of land with a GDV of RM4.5 billion. With over 28 years experiences in construction industries and project management consultancy, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in township developments, highways and buildings construction.

He was previously Vice President 1 in the Special Project Division at UDA Holdings Berhad, a position he held from 2014 to March 2021. He had been responsible for the overall development, planning and coordination for high-end and prestige property development in Kuala Lumpur city centre. Among the projects under his helm were Bukit Bintang City Centre, high-end Anggun Residences 38 storey serviced apartment in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Legasi Kampong Baru (639 residential units and 83 office lots), Legasi Awan Besar, Legasi Cochrane and Cahaya Sinar Kota in Jalan Tun Perak. Renovation works for UDA Office and Subsidiary Office at Pertama Complex, Ancasa Hotels Port Dickson & Kuala Lumpur and Angsana Johor Bahru Mall & Ampangan Seremban.

Prior to joining UDA, Muhammad Ismail was Vice President of the Development & Operation Department at Iskandar Development Management & Services Sdn Bhd (Subsidiaries Company to Iskandar Investment Berhad – IIB) from 2008 to 2013. He was responsible for overall development, planning and coordination on main utilities and infrastructures master planning for the interest of IIB development in prestige development in Nusajaya of Iskandar Development Region. He was also entrusted for Medini Iskandar Malaysia project implementation such as construction and completion for overall Medini Infrastructure including roads and drains, 24 million gallon per day reservoir and pipe networks as well as 500,000PE sewerage treatment plant with marine outfall discharged pipe embedded below seabed level of Johor Straits. 

He was delegated to represent IIB development in joint management with UEM Land for planning and developing Nusajaya Township Master Plan for Utilities and Infrastructures in securing the interest of IIB development as one of the developers in Nusajaya City. 

His expertise was also utilized for the preparation of IRDA blue print documents on Utilities Services for Overall Master Plan Iskandar Malaysia Development Region including transmission line, sewerage system, transportation and water supply services with the total value of projects exceeding RM1.0 billion.

Muhammad Ismail graduated from University of Malaya in 1991 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons).  He became a mechanical engineer soon after at ELMEC Consultant Sdn Bhd and oversaw designing works, tender documents, liaison with local authorities, among other responsibilities. He left in 1992 to join Majutek Perunding Sdn Bhd in a similar capacity. 

One of the highlights of his career was between 1994 and 2001 when he was attached to Percon Corporation Sdn Bhd as M & E Section Head and involved in the first privatisation highway construction, the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), in a Gamuda-Percon joint venture.  He was also the M & E Manager overseeing the construction of the first elevated highway involving new technology, the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH). He handled relocation works, systems for toll collection, cash transfer, access control and surveillance, traffic control and surveillance, street lighting services, emergency telephone system, directional signage’s and road furniture and pumping system.

In 2002, Muhammad Ismail became Assistant Project Manager at Kuala Lumpur City Centre Berhad, managing projects like Challenge Park in Taman Selatan Development Precinct 20, Lake Edge Promenade in Precinct 6 and 7 in Putrajaya, and the construction of Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and Christian cemeteries. From 2006 to 2008, he was General Manager at Satriadesa Corporation Sdn Bhd where he managed projects like Community College, Selayang and Puchong Perdana Mosque, Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah and NIOSH Johor Bahru.

Muhammad Ismail is a member of the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and Project Management Institute, USA. He also obtained certification in Project Management from International Project Management Association in 2017.
