Dr Peter Jr Naintin is an established figure in the field of project management, construction management, sustainable development, property and township development. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of UDA Holdings Berhad on 27 June 2023. His expertise in various technical, managerial, and executive roles spans in a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, infrastructure, public amenities, hotel, food and beverage, and recreational developments, across Malaysia. Among his many notable achievements are the township developments of The Light Waterfront Penang (152 acres), Bandar Utama Sandakan (460 acres), and Rimbayu lndah Master Development (124 acres), with the total construction and development value of more than RM2 billion.
Dr Peter obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Science University of Malaysia (USM), Penang in 2017. Prior to that, he obtained a Master of Science (Project Management) from USM in 2005 and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil and Structural Engineering from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), Bangi, Selangor.
He is a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and a Graduate Member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. Apart from that, he is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM), as well as a Unit Trust Consultant accredited by the Federation of Investment Management Malaysia (FIMM) and a Private Retirement Scheme Consultant.
Dr Peter has acquired more than 2 decades worth of diverse professional experiences, starting as a Graduate Civil Engineer at Konsultant Kumpulan (MT) Sdn Bhd in Sabah. Following that, he served as a Resident Engineer at Perunding YAA Sdn Bhd (C&S consultancy firm) in Penang. Later, he worked as a Project Engineer at Underwater World Langkawi S/B, Kedah and Eden Enterprises (M) Berhad, Petaling Jaya. As his career progressed, he took on the role of Senior Project Engineer at Jelutong Development S/B in Penang. He then served as the Property Development Manager at IJM Land Management Services S/B in Sabah. Based on his vast experiences, he holds the position of Chairman/Director at KKIP Property Sdn Bhd, Sabah.
Besides his professional endeavours, Dr Peter demonstrates an unwavering commitment to community service. He is Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) for top schools in Sandakan, mainly SM Sung Siew (CF); and SMK St Cecilia Convent. Previously, he was the Head of Events cum PR & Publicity & Continuing Education at Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) for Sabah Chapter. Currently, he is the Patron for Persatuan Kebudayaan & Kebajikan Kadazan Sandakan, NGO Big Heart Libaran, and hold a Life Membership with Kadazan Society of Sabah. He has a passion to aid and support the young generation by promoting leadership through education, welfare, culture, and sports. He had delivered various motivational talks in school by promoting leadership and study skills to more than 10,000 students in Sabah.
Research and writing are also among Dr Peter’s many passions. To date, he has written the Design of Sewerage Treatment Plant in Malaysia, Development of Marketing Strategy by Construction Company in Malaysia, and Development of Green Homes in Malaysia: Readiness of Housing Development Company, to name a few.
