Tan Sri Mohd Annuar bin Zaini was appointed Chairman of UDA Holdings Berhad on 23 March 2023. With his experience and skills, he is dedicated to making a positive impact on the company and its stakeholders. He aims to foster an environment of creativity, growth, and learning, while valuing diversity, equity and social responsibility.
His career began in government service in 1977 when he was appointed Administrative and Diplomatic Officer, and he had since contributed his services in various ministries and government departments at the federal level, as well as in the state of Perak. In 1999, he took an optional retirement from the government service to venture into the private sector.
Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini has made significant contributions to various sectors and has been recognised for his achievements. He was appointed as a Member of Dewan Negara Perak in 2004 as well as a Member of the Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs in 2008. Currently he serves as the President of the Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs since January 2021.
From 1993 to present, he has served as the Chairman of Metropolitan Utilities Corporation Sdn. Bhd. He is a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia since 2000 and a member on the board of PERKESO since 2020. Currently, he also serves as Chairman of MRCB Land Sdn. Bhd.
He previously served as Advisor and Chief Executive of the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority from 2007 to 2009. He was appointed Executive Director of Berjaya Corporation Berhad from 2001 through 2004 and Chairman of Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) from February 2004 to January 2010. He was the founder chairman to the Royal Perak Medical College from 1995 -1999 and a board member from 2005-2011. He was a board member of the Malaysia Airlines System Berhad, PLUS Expressway Berhad (2007-2012) and Tropicana Corporation Berhad (2010-2015). He too was a board member of the University of Malaya (2014-2019), Chairman of Malaya Specialist Centre (2015-2019), Chairman of International University of Malaya Wales (2014-2019)
Tan Sri Mohd Annuar holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, USA and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
